Polyethylene product can be placed directly in the excavation place. It is necessary to perform excavation of appropriate dimensions, which we get by increasing the dimensions that are given in the table for the product we intend to install for 20 cm on each side or depth obtained by increasing the height of product for 40 cm. Prepare a moistened sandy bedding at least 20 cm thick at the bottom of the trench, so that the device can be placed on a homogeneous material. Lay the device in the excavation, connect and test provided input and output pipes. Fill the device with water and fill in sides with sand: filling is performed in layers of 15 to 20 cm in the way that the water is poured to the desired level first, and then the sides are filled with wet sand. Filling with sand is carried to a height of 20 cm above the device with light compaction. The rest of the trench is filled to the top with the soil freed of stones or elements that can penetrate to the device. It is necessary that compaction of the sand around the device is 95% by Proctor. If the device is placed underneath the road that is designed for heavy flow of freight traffic it is necessary to install additional reinforced concrete (relief) plate. If there is groundwater in the area of the installation, concrete base should be done on the sand bedding.
When installing take into account that:
- Separator should not be installed directly below the place it serves
- Separator must be available for inspection and emptying,
- Pipes connected to the separator must not be equipped with fragrance catchers (siphons),
- Separator lids shall never be physically connected with the separator using screws, bolts, locks, etc..,
- Wastewater should be entering the separator with the help of the force of gravity. Pumping stations can not be used to deliver the water directly into the separator. Pumping stations can be used after the separator drain opening to drain the purified wastewater to sewer pipes,
- Pane for taking samples (installed after the separator in the direction of flow) must always be installed.
Coalescent filter is integrated within the set and installed near the separator drain and carries out the separation of the finer and difficult separable oil particles from waste water. These finer particles are catched in the filter where they combine with others, creating a larger / heavier droplets which are then separated from the coalescent filter and rise to the surface of the separator. Separators are equipped with self-activating float which closes the separator drain completely when SEPARATOR ACHIEVES MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF MINERAL OIL. Float is calibrated to float on the water and sink in the oil / fuel (it withstands all substances with specific density between 0.85 and 0.95 g/cm3). When the maximum amount of mineral oil is reached it overwhelms the chamber and causes rapid sinking of the float, which completely closes the drain of the separator. To reduce the possibility of closing the separator flow because of excessive amounts of oil in the tank, alarm unit that monitors the level of mineral oil can be installed, so that the contents of the separator can be emptied on time. Pane for taking samples is designed to allow fast, easy and accurate taking of samples of the output water that flows out from the separator. Pane for taking samples allows the owner or the inspection agency to take the water sample that flows out in the purpose of supervision of the separator.
Concentration of cleaning agents and detergents in wastewater entering the separator should be kept to a minimum. Cleaning agents / detergents used for washing, and are therefore present in wastewater entering the separator should be neutral and free of hydrogen chloride. Chlorinated hydro / carbonates are not allowed in the cleaning agents. If more than one detergents or cleaning agents are used, they should be compatible. If in doubt, contact the manufacturer of the cleaning agent / detergent for further information.
Under improper use of washing devices or when the cleaning agents / detergents are directly injected into the washer and are then sprayed to the surface contaminated with mineral oil EMULSIFICATION can occur. Untreated emusificators present in wastewater that enters the separator can not be separated using mineral oil separator with coalescent filter. In cases when emusificators are present in wastewater, emulsification devices can be installed which can process wastewater before it enters the separator.
